Ballast Nedam Infra Suriname completed over US $30 million of civil engineering work for a state oil company in Suriname, South America, in relation to an overall refinery expansion plan with the aim of decreasing country dependence on imported oil products. The works involved the construction of below ground concrete foundations including steel piling, above ground concrete structures for pipe racks and other oil refinery plant and equipment, all to be completed over an eighteen month period.
The works were extremely complex due to the interaction with multiple contractors, and the reliance on imported building materials.
Contract administration was provided throughout the duration of the project, together with additional specialist services as required, drawing on regional knowledge and experience.
“Based on previous positive experience in providing specialist services on other projects contract administration was provided to our complete satisfaction, as well as adding value to the project under challenging conditions”
