Bridgetown, Barbados – July 10th, 2023 - Having commenced work on 1st May 2022 on the pre-construction phase of the Elegant Hotels rebranding in Barbados, Bould Consulting Limited (BCL) along with sister company, IDEA, are pleased to announce its successful completion of the work, paving the way for the exciting construction phase.
At the end of 2019, Marriott International acquired these seven (7) hotels properties with 588 keys from the Elegant Hotels portfolio in Barbados and is renovating the hotels to rebrand them as part of Marriott International’s Tribute, Autograph and Luxury Collection branded hotels. Renovations include improvements to the guestrooms as defined by the interior design solutions, enhancements to public spaces for rebranding where applicable and implementation of additional Fire Life and Safety standards as required by Marriott, as well as the refurbishment of the associates’ areas (back of house).
Marriott International tasked BCL/IDEA to provide the Onsite Project Management services for the property review and pre-construction services, including assembling a team of resort experienced contractors, architects, and engineers, and finalizing the contractual arrangements. With that phase of the works successfully completed, Marriott International will work with local Bajan construction managers to conduct the construction phase of this exciting and timely project.
BCL’s involvement on projects in Barbados has been both longstanding and wide-ranging from the airport, business parks, luxury condominiums, schools, hotels, banks, embassies, and offices, and the BCL team is delighted to have assisted Marriott International in establishing specialized project controls for the pre-construction phase of the project.
