As part of our continued support to our Tourism Sector Clients, Michell Vargas, Managing Director of Bould Consulting Limited, participated as Trade Visitor in the 43rd edition of the FITUR International Tourism Trade Fair in the city of Madrid, Spain from the 18th to the 22nd of January 2023.
FITUR provided a dynamic and unique opportunity for Bould Consulting Limited to meet with current clients as well as reach new potential clients that are developing or planning to develop key projects in the Caribbean. Michell had the opportunity as well to participate in private presentation with Financing entities, as well and providing technical support to clients. This special edition highlighted the continued recovery of the global tourism industry and its challenges.
FITUR is the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound Ibero American markets and is the first major international trade fair this year in Europe to take place. The fair took place in its usual location at the IFEMA Grounds, with all the necessary health and safety precautions.
FITUR attracted a total of 222,000 attendees, representing a growth of 99.6%, almost double that of 2022. In terms of the profile of these participants, 136,000 professionals have been registered, representing an increase of 68% and an estimated 86,000 visitors, after today's closing of its two public days, which is practically three times more than last year's figure.
In terms of participation, the fair brought together 8,500 companies, 131 countries, 755 exhibitors, in 8 halls of the exhibition centre, which represented a net exhibition area of 66,900 m2, equalling the occupation of 2020.
