CARIBBEAN COUNCIL HOUSE OF LORDS ANNUAL COCKTAIL RECEPTION LONDON 27TH APRIL 2022
CARIBBEAN COUNCIL HOUSE OF LORDS ANNUAL COCKTAIL RECEPTION LONDON 27TH APRIL 2022

BCL chairman Martyn Bould attended Caribbean Council’s reception held at the House of Lords in London on 27th April 2022 with Dr Irfaan Ali, President of the Republic of Guyana as guest of honour. Due to the restrictions of COVID it had been two long years since the last event.

Lord Bruce, Chairman of the Caribbean Council, opened the proceedings noting the Council’s role in networking interested parties to work towards exchange of skills and information, and in particular the extensive opportunities represented by the significant oil reserves discovered in Guyana in recent years.

President Ali noted both the opportunities in Guyana from the oil discoveries but also the significant opportunities emanating from the vast reserves of both water and forestation that the country offers.

A visit to Guyana took place in February 2022 and secured several joint opportunities based on the expansion of the oil industry there.

The reception enabled great networking opportunities with both tourism and ambassadors from Caribbean countries as well as leading business and professionals discussing forward plans as we emerge from the pandemic.
